Daughters that die here won’t matter since the game would end either way (though you’re free to start a new recollection afterward). Oh, and since this is the last battle in Othercide, I won’t fault you for taking risks. Be forewarned because of the boss’ high health since this will be a war of attrition. Ideally, you should’ve only taken minimal damage during the Nucleus encounter so you’re still in tip-top shape for this one. The Suffering will be your ultimate test in Othercide, so you better make sure you’re prepared.

MORE: How to Beat Khotun Khan in Ghost of Tsushima (Boss Guide) The Child defeated, players are one step closer to defeating the Suffering and freeing humanity. Don’t try to move The Child too much, however, when it is using Cross of Agony or Rain of Agony, as this makes it difficult to predict which tiles it will impact.Īfter The Child has been vanquished, players will be rewarded with two Remembrance Perks, The Twisted Mask will allow new Daughters that have been recruited to start at level 10, and players will also be able to skip an era if needed.

This attack is practically impossible to avoid, save for moving to small wedges of the map.Ī strategy for avoiding the Torrent of Agony is to move The Child as far down the map as possible so that it doesn’t have any map below it to hit. If The Child reaches 50% health, it will start using the Cross of Agony, another charged attack. Make sure that the Daughters frequently move around the map to keep them from becoming sitting ducks. Rain of Agony will affect seemingly random tiles scattered on the map. The Torrent of Agony is another attack that needs to be charged and will affect a large cone-shaped area of tiles below the boss. It’s important to have the Daughters spread out when this attack is in motion. This will make the two attacks affect the tiles around The Child’s target in a three tile diameter. When the second phase of The Child’s battle begins when it reaches 75%, its Shriek and Misery attacks will progress to the dreadful versions. Severe Pain resets The Child’s initiative to zero when it reaches 75% health, allowing The Child to take a turn when you’re done. Rays of Agony deals 550 damage in eight directions for seven tiles in a star pattern. It also uses Rays of Agony, its charge attack, and Severe Pain. Shriek deals 1,200 damage and Misery deals 500 damage to the Daughter that is furthest away from it, cutting down the movement range. The Child starts with a health meter of 50,000 HP and uses Shriek and Misery in the first phase of the game. There is no real preferred strategy for offense, as continuing to move around the map is the top priority in this battle. The player is allowed a squad of four Daughters at the beginning of the boss battle, consisting of Blademasters, Shieldbearers, Soulslingers, and Scythedancers. Many of its attacks discourage the player from making their Daughters stay still for very long, as they will accrue damage quickly and risk the chance of joining their sisters in the cemetery. A big component of The Child’s boss battle to avoid its attacks as it makes them.
